Bass is another good performer. Not because of quantity because you will find many far better basshead IEMs on the market.
The sub-bass is restrained so as not to bleed, but the driver has adequate speed and resolves a lot of texture in the mid-bass region. I like this headphone more for rock and classical than EDM, but it can still be used as an all-rounder.
Negative points are many; we sacrifice in other areas what we make up in sound, making the ZE8000 more suited to our niche audience than the mass market. The size and design are bulky (earbuds and carry case), and the active noise canceling is useless. The App that was designed is also a waste of space because they bury functionality inside it. Finally, there is a way to access your digital assistant, which requires a ridiculous five taps on the capacitive controls to activate.
Verdict
If sound quality is your primary goal then the ZE8000 is one of the best-sounding true wireless earbuds on the market. They also stand out with a unique design. There are a lot of quirks though, and that will keep this earbud in the enthusiast/audiophile circles—people who are willing to accept some of the drawbacks in exchange for a higher level of fidelity.
